AI-augmented research
AI agents help us compare routes, seasons, prices, boat fit, editorial signals, and supplier context faster than a traditional travel desk can.
About MantaraDive
MantaraDive is a small team of divers, photographers, and trip curators based in Toronto. We use AI-augmented research to surface the best of the world's blue water, then a human specialist reviews every recommendation.
Who we are
Dive travel is unusually high-stakes: narrow seasons, complex permits, variable conditions, expensive boats, and a lot of outdated information. A generic search page is not enough when a week at sea can define a year of travel.
Our work is to turn that complexity into clear choices. We look at route timing, operator fit, boat comfort, current patterns, marine-life goals, cabin economics, and what kind of diver should actually be on the trip.
The promise is simple: sharper curation, faster answers, and more honest tradeoffs before you commit.
How we work
AI agents help us compare routes, seasons, prices, boat fit, editorial signals, and supplier context faster than a traditional travel desk can.
A specialist still reviews the recommendation against your certification, current comfort, budget, and reason for going.
A good deal is only good if the boat, operator, itinerary, and support model match the trip you actually want.
Where we are
MantaraDive is based in Toronto and serves divers traveling outward to the Maldives, Red Sea, Indonesia, Galapagos, Mexico, Micronesia, Malaysia, and other blue-water destinations.
Frank Zhang, founder + lead curator, shaped the operating thesis after scaling a marketing agency and seeing how AI could compress research, coordination, and publishing work without removing the human judgment travelers still need.
The brand is intentionally small: fewer layers, clearer accountability, and a repeatable team narrative that can grow with future specialist verticals.
Team
Real specialist profiles will keep expanding as the supplier network grows. The operating model is already clear: dive judgment, visual literacy, supplier context, and AI research working in one loop.
Safety, certification fit, current comfort, and when a famous site is not the right site for a specific diver.
Season, visibility, marine-life behavior, and whether the month matches the shot list travelers actually care about.
Boat comfort, cabins, route timing, operator fit, availability, and supplier handoff before money moves.
Always-on comparison of prices, routes, season windows, editorial signals, and content gaps for human review.
